Shannon draws on over 25 years of talent acquisition, executive search and leadership experience, including 14 years as a corporate recruiting practitioner. During the hyper growth years at Microsoft, she created and led the renowned Strike Team; the first ever corporate sourcing function that helped the company scale from 8,000 to 40,000 employees. She also created and led Microsoft’s Annual Global Recruiter Training Symposium.
After Microsoft, Shannon was the founding Talent Partner at Ignition Partners Venture Capital, now the largest Seattle VC with $3B under management. In this pioneering role, Shannon taught Ignition’s portfolio companies to compete and scale in super competitive talent marketplaces. After Ignition, she co-founded two executive search firms, Velocity Search Partners and Anderson Search Partners, whose clients include Amazon and Google, and many emerging stage startups in Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area. Geekwire’s “hire of the year” in 2014 was one of her firm’s many game-changing hires. She has been a speaker/trainer at Talent42, NWRA, The Executive Search Academy, and LadyCoders.
Shannon is known for building pragmatic solutions to complex recruiting challenges. As a consultant and trainer, she coaches and inspires talent professionals to push boundaries and perform at the top of their game.
