Consultative Recruiting Workshop

This workshop delivers practical strategies, tools and techniques to help Recruiters more effectively manage their Hiring Manager relationships.  It’s focused on elevating the role of the recruiter to a more strategic, consultative partner relationship and away from a customer-service oriented role.

  • How to build a consultative credible, confidence-building relationship with Hiring Managers and avoid playing the role of customer service representative.
  • How to prepare for and lead the Hiring Manager kickoff/intake meeting, and set up the relationship and recruiting process for success.
  • How to effectively leverage the four key SLA concepts to set and manage expectations around goals, strategies, process, roles, timelines, and
    consequences, and push back on unrealistic and low ROI requests.

All of our training is custom-built to align to your recruiting team’s challenges, goals, skill gaps, culture, and process. The actual workshop agenda is developed in partnership with you, the recruiting leader. We leverage real world offer and closing scenarios to ensure that recruiters leave with practical, actionable strategies and tactics. We build these scenarios after conducting focus group calls with your team, so that we’re sure they’re on target.

We understand the corporate recruiting environment your recruiters work in. We ensure that the strategies, tactics, and scenarios we leverage in the training are realistic. And, even though we believe strongly in SLA concepts, we know that written SLAs are often overkill and set up much too formal of a relationship for effective partnering to take place.

Recruiters usually leave the training excited to engage hiring managers, even the more challenging ones. Recruiters often love to recruit because they’re so relationship-oriented, and this training makes establishing good partnership relationships easier.

We conduct 1-3 focus group calls with your recruiters before we design your training. This helps us to customize the content by learning more about the skill level of the recruiters who will attend and also learning to speak your “language”. It also helps your team get comfortable with us, our approach, and our expertise.

Our workshop facilitators are former corporate recruiting leaders and recruiters who have built and lived the consultative recruiting approaches we share with your teams. Your recruiters will know – right away – that our team has walked the talk.

Yes! We share templates that make client management easier, including templates and tools to help recruiters set up the relationship for success, and teach them how to leverage SLA concepts and speak the language of their hiring managers to engage managers effectively. .

We include tools/templates with every workshop we deliver. These are designed to help the training “live on” after the workshop is over. After the training, Recruiters head back to their desks with easy-to-use tools to help them better engage and set expectations with hiring managers as partners. This is not some theoretical workshop focused on the importance of being a strategic partner; it’s all about the “how to.”

How long is the workshop?

It depends on the agenda we custom-build for you, but – in general – these workshops are a half to full day.
